Plate #225 Abandoned gas station Medicine Mound, Hardeman County, Texas, December 31st, 2018. Talk to a local man Rick Jump, who just moved back to Medicine Mound, after spending a good part of his adult life away. He said he's 61 years old and the gas station has been operational in his life. The old timers in town still use to gather there to play dominos on stormy days when they couldn't work. The town got it's name because legend has it the nearby hills is were a place that local indians would bring their sick to be healed. At the base of the hill it was said that the indians would hold horse races there as well. Photographed: Fuji Velvia 100, 1/500 f8.5, 90mm lens, lots of corrective shifts, plate AX2. Part of the Lost Americana series. Find out more at www.LostAmericana.combr/br/Photo copyright of Vincent David Johnson.
